Encuentro de JDR | Meeting of the JDR

“ ¡Bienvenidos a bordo!” fue el lema la semana pasada en Ejea de los Caballeros. Los Jóvenes Dinamizadores Rurales (JDR) han organizado otra vez un fin de semana de convivencia y trabajo para jóvenes y yo participe para ayudar al equipo de monitores. JDR es un proyecto que incluye pueblos de diferentes comarcas de Aragón. Los jóvenes participan en el desarrollo de su propio pueblo para hace más vivo. El proyecto cuenta con la colaboración económica de la Unión Europea. Los encuentros son para intercambiar experiencias y para recoger ideas nuevas. Fue un fin de semana lleno de diversión, donde hacer nuevos amigos, con una noche mágica – cantando y bailando jota y con muchas nuevas ideas para desarrollar los siguientes meses.

“Welcome on board!” was the motto last week in Ejea de los caballeros. The Jóvenes Dinamizadores Rurales (JDR) organized again a weekend for the youth and I took part as a help for the monitors. Jóvenes Dinamizadores Rurales is a project which includes different villages in the Aragon region. The young people are involved in the development of their town to make it more alive. The project collaborates with the European Union. The meetings are to exchange some experiences and to collect new ideas. It was a weekend full of fun, making new friends, with a magical – jota singing and dancing night and many new ideas for the upcoming months.

Festival Periferias

Un festival más. Huesca puede ser una ciudad pequeňa pero por supuesto no es una ciudad dormida. El día 7.11 se acabó otro festival que hemos tenido en Huesca ciudad. Junto con otros voluntarios, hemos formado parte de él. Y teníamos la oportunicad ver parte de lo que sucede de los focos. Nuestra tarea era estar allí para atender los artistas, acreditarlos. También  estabamos como punto de información y ayuda.  (En otras palabras – para responder a sus preguntas y ayudarles resolver aquellos problemas que pudieran ocurir, o dudas que pudieron tener). El voluntariado muchas veces nos da algunas oportunidades únicas. Los voluntarios podrían entrar a algunos sitios del Palacio de Congresos que normalmente no son acesibles al público. También podíamos comprobar si los artistas presentes tienen o no tienen algunas necesidades especiales. Como  parece, no las tienen. O si las tienen, no son muy exageradas.  Estar en Periferias  fue una buena experiencia  y algunas veces fue divertido porque éramos incapaces de reconocer a algunos artistas con quienes habíamos hablado solo algunas horas antes. Eso es el poder del maquillaje y la presencia en el escenario.

One more festival in the town. Huesca might be small but for sure not a sleepy town. Last Friday the festival Periferias ended. Together with many other volunteers we were once again part of it. And we could see, how such festival looks like behind the scene. Our task was to be present at the reception, make an accreditation of the artists and we were there for them as an information point and help desk (In other words, we were there to answer their questions and to help them to solve any possible problems they might have). Volunteering often gives one some unique opportunities. The volunteers were allowed to enter some hidden parts of the Congress Centre that are normally not open to the public. And we had the chance to prove if the present artists have some star. As it seems they do not have them or in case they do, it is nothing extraordinary. It was a nice  experience and sometimes it was funny, that we were unable to recognize some artist on the scene even we had spoke with them just few hours before.
